U.S. Export Administration Regulations

We’ve been testing our web application on a Nokia 6680. This is a UMTS phone, with support for wap 2.0, xhtml, html 4.01 and javascript:

Support for a subset of JavaScript 1.5, which includes the most commonly used functions found on the Internet

Looks nice, but we seem to be using some unsupported javascript in our application, as one of our submit buttons isn’t working. The submit button is using javascript in the onsubmit event to validate the entered data.

So i head over to Forum Nokia, hoping to find some documentation on exactly what subset of javascript is supported. The following links look interesting: Series_60_Developer_Platform_1_0_2_0_Basics_v1_0_en.pdf, Guidelines For Creating Web Content For Mobile And PC Browsing, Next Generation Mobile Browsing White Paper.

One problem though, when i try to download these documents, the following message is displayed:

Due to U.S. Export Administration Regulations, you are not authorized to download this file. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

What does the US have to do with this? Nokia is a Finnish company, we are in the Netherlands, both countries are part of the EU. I don’t see how the US has anything to do with this.

Anybody know how i can actually access these documents?
