Everything will be mobile

I’m personally convinced that within a few years 80% or more of all web access will be from mobile devices: Phones, or tablets. Most people only use their computers to read mail and surf the web. Once this can be done conveniently on mobile devices, these people will have no use for a laptop of desktop pc. The iphone is close. People i know that have an iphone tell me they use their computers a lot less. Even at home, they’ll sit on their couch reading mails and surfing the web on their iphone.
Fred Wilson states more or less the same in A Big Week For The Mobile Web:
The “mobile web” is where “it” is at right now. And it is also where it is all going.
I hope html5 will be the best technology to target these mobile devices, but unfortunately we aren’t there yet. So in the meantime i’m learning to program ObjectiveC and Cocoa. Next step will be Android. I expect android to be bigger than iphone. Atleast, as long as Apple doesn’t license mobile osx. The mobile market is large, with a lot of manufacturers. They need an operating system that will enable a larget app market, enable them to differentiate their device experience, and that will be low cost. I think Android fits these requirements better than windows mobile.
